's time we get a break. first you had superstorm sandy, then the nor'easter and seriously cold temps. gary mcgrady is with us. so, gary are let's hope some warm weather is sticking around.a while. >> will, today we were up to 58 degrees. we're into the 60s for the weekend and at least on monday. it will get cooler after monday. right now, though, we look at satellite picture. it's all fair out there. there are some showers coming into northwestern ohio right now, all indications are that's going to weaken and dissipate. we may see a few high and midlevel clouds early tomorrow morning. the plan for the weekend is this ridge of high pressure really will kind of pump up through the area and keep us protected. that will keep most of the cloud cover going north of us. any chance of rain going to the north of us and maybe more importantly, it will bring in these southerly winds. it will help get temperatures back up to the mild category. i think we're probably going to be up into the middle 60s tomorrow and as we start getting into sunday, we're talking the upper 60s. it would not surprise me on

in long beach, new york. the entire community devastated by super storm sandy nearly two weeks ago. many of the residents say the lack of power, basic necessity says making the recovery effort much more difficult. anna is live. what kind of progress are you seeing with the cleanup? >> reporter: gregg, the cleanup efforts it's been mixed. we have seen a lot of people cleaning clearing out their homes and backhoes coming in and picking up the debris but only a few feet away you see these cars they look like they have been forgotten for two weeks. there is sea gunk underneath them. we talked to the red cross and $40-50 million has been invested by them into relief and urging everybody to clean up because of concerns over mold. other health concern is carbon monoxide poisoning. a woman in ocean side died after she had a generator she was using in her garage. concerns over power go it's coming back in pockets. really the numbers to be misleading we're getting from power companies because they don't include tens of thousands of storm ravaged victims whose electrical systems that the power comp

be a terrible idea. >> a natural disaster just seen sandy come through mt. middle of the -- in the middle of the night. a high demand. a fire in an area of the city that border area of the city. such as east of the river. and the medics that ride the fire engines are tied up on the fire ground. they're not able to provide advanced life support. >> we also have seven ems supervisor who is don't put out -- visors who don't put out fires. in addition to that our firefighter emts are capable of providing you know, some basic life supports as well. >> reporter: fire officials say they get a total of between 40 and 60 medic calls between those hours 1:00 and 7:00 in the morning city wide. that is far fewer than they get during the rest of the day. and the chief says changing the shifts for those medic units will mean that there are more of them available on the streets when they are really needed. but the city council has to review this and the fire chief says if it doesn't work he'll change it, back to you. >> you can imagine why there are concerns. >>> the new express lanes on the virginia si

without power two weeks after hurricane sandy slammed into the northeast. they're not the only ones suffering. folks in new york city usually head to coney island to line up for music park -- amusement park rides but now they're lining up just to get something to eat. jonathan hunt is there. jonathan, how is it going? >> reporter: extraordinary to see scenes like this in 20th century america. some people have just trying to get the basics of life. they're picking up canned goods over here. over here we have well, military-style meals ready to eat. gatorade bottles, cases of water. and everything is numbered. they're allowed to take two canned goods. one gatorade. up to a case of water and then there is laundry detergent further down there as well. a lot of these people live in the project buildings behind me, rick, where they have been struggling to get by for two weeks now since hurricane sandy hit. i have to say the spirit we found among most of the people here, while they acknowledge their difficulty they're all determined to push through. listen. >> we don't have any electricity
